we're just not complete

jeremy is in the Philippines for the next few days and has commanded (haha) me to post video of the kiddos. i think he misses them. not like i don't have anything else to do, but here it goes! get comfy this may be long... i am a pack-rat and i know it... not like one of those crazy pack-rat people you see on oprah who save their fast food wrappers, but i just hang on to things..... i am being forced to minimize (more on why in a later post)and i found this huge bag of caleb's old school work. now.....what kind of mom would i be if i threw it all away? i decided to take pictures of it all, group it into age or grade and run it as my screen saver. i know i am a dork! but some of it is so darn cute!!!

i don't have new video of caleb because he's at school all day, but i thought this was hilarious. for the 100th day of school this year (a few weeks go)he had to draw a picture of himself at 100 and write what he would be doing at that time. for those of you who don't read 1st grader this says "i would goto a lot of meetings" right on!!...and you know you're digging the orange wrinkles and the black stache . not as cool as the red bow tie though!!! at least he didn't write "i would eat medicine all day" like one of his friend's did...

he also got hauled off in a police car and locked in a holding cell this month. scout stuff, he loved it. now he thinks police officers, security guards, etc. are just like batman because of their cool utility belts. you can only imagine some of the stuff he shoves in his waistband in the name of the black knight. he received his tiger award too and was so proud of his stripes. hes growing too fast, learning too much and pushing buttons wherever he can find them! only we could love caleb like we do!

i am so amazed every day with the little things ethan picks up on. i don't teach him 1/2 the stuff he knows, he just picks it up. makes me feel a bit guilty knowing what i could teach him if i tried, but there are so many other things that demand my attention and unfortunately those things are a bit louder right now. so here is ethan, preparing to get fit!!!

on a side note....after 3 pairs of peed pants i opted for only the undies. i know, i know i am not potty training right, but actually i am not trying at all, he just strips it off when its wet whatever it is-diaper, undies, pants, whatever! now i know he watches me as i do these things, but really...i think i have only done the cobra around him once or twice. either way i am glad i am instilling the importance of taking care of our bodies in a child so young. even if i am not doing it on purpose!!!

i almost forgot this picture. i took it last night. at first i thought it strange he was hugging the scale (maybe i was putting too much emphasis on exercise). then i realized.......grandma and grandpa taught him about watches this weekend. he's just listening to it tick! makes all the sense in the world now.....

now i come to my indulgence post. i've seen tons of videos that only a mother could love, and i have so far refrained. you know the videos where its like oh that's cute, but like i really need to see your kid smile or attempt to roll over for 5 whole minutes. i could really just watch this baby all day long. his new looks, smiles, sounds, voice experimentation, it all just amazes me. plus the fact that he humms 'mmmmmm' makes me think 'mmmmmaammmmmmmaa' is coming soon. he has said it a few times, but i'm not sure it was on purpose!!! he;s started to do this little wrinkled nose thing that is too cute for words, here it is a little bit.

anyways, indulge me and tell me this baby is the most precious thing you have ever seen.*** or at least the cutest since your kids were this age. come on i'm a mom in love! and its not my fault the baby freezes when the camera comes out-what kid doesn't!

and no he doesn't have a sunburn. its part of his complexion. his face reds up every time i take him outside, even completely covered. a few hours after he's been inside, they are the purest white again. now on to the daddy. we miss you terribly, we love you immensely, we are so much better here with you around. its just no fun without you! glad you can see these kids even if you are on the other side of the world. be safe, hurry home, we love you!

you know how really late at night things are substantially more hysterical than at regular hours of the day?. that happens to kids too. caleb had a bit of fun with the blow dryer one night in this picture. what a goof!

so the whole 3 sixs kinda freaks me out a bit so i decided to mix it up and do the 6th folder 5th picture and tag 4 of you. so 6, 5, 4 sounds a bit better. plus i don't think 6 people read this blog! i know i am such a non-conformist......

ode to the shower

remember when you were young, or single, or didn't have kids, or were just at home alone and you could spend hours (literally) in the shower? well i used to anyways....i just took a shower. the kids are asleep, no one to bother or interrupt me. it lasted 7 minutes. weird how over time, more important things matter........like sleep.........
